Experiments slow control:

The Q meter is the so called Liverpool NMR box. For DC compensation and amplification the Yale card and self made cards are used. The signals are collected with MIO boards and GPIB boards from National Instruments. We are using Pentium PC's with MS Windows and LabVIEW to develop the application software. The NMR PC is connected to the slow control part of the target via ethernet (tcp/ip). Remote control of the NMR via internet is possible.

With the NMR program several operations can be done,e.g. background subtraction, baseline fit, integration and more. The magnet power supply is controlled via rs232. The rf generator, the oscilloscope and the DVM are controlled via GPIB.

The slow control includes the indication of voltages, pressures, temperatures, currents and many more digital status information (like valves open or close...). These values are read with multi I/O boards, serial interfaces and GPIB's. The next picture shows the indication of different values: dewar level, temperature resistors and values from the NMR. This front end shows the current status and the values of the last few hours are plotted.

read & show vi

The "read & show vi" enables one to look at former data and conversion of selected parts for spread sheet calculations.
